Receiving the Kingdom Like a Child (Mark 10:13-16)

This Sunday we will focus on the topic of receiving the kingdom of God like a child.

As you prepare for corporate worship this week, consider the following questions:

  • The disciples rebuked people who were bringing children to Jesus. In your own life, do you try to set Jesus’ priorities for him? How so?
  • Jesus was indignant. What are the things in our world that make you the most indignant?
  • “The kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Read through the Beatitudes (Matthew 5:2-12). In what ways is God’s kingdom upside down from how we might expect?
  • “Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” What do you think it means to receive God’s kingdom like a child?

Feel free to post your responses to these questions below. Feel free also to share other thoughts or questions related to this text.
