“Bring an Umbrella” (Luke 11:1-13; Acts 2:1-13, 42-47)

This morning during community worship, we reflected on God sending the Holy Spirit. If you’d like to read through the sermon, feel free to click the following link: Bring an Umbrella. As you reflect on the morning songs, scriptures, theme, and message, also consider the following reflective questions:

  • When you pray to God, do you expect that God will answer? How does God answer your prayers?
  • Of the three actions that we talked about this morning (Pray, Receive, Join), which one are you most comfortable with? Which one are you least comfortable with? Why?
  • God longs to send the Holy Spirit into us and among us. What are ways that you have experienced the Spirit’s work in your own life?
  • Pentecost is a celebration of heaven coming to earth. What glimpses of heaven do you see all around you?

Feel free to post other related thoughts and questions. May God’s Spirit fill each of us so that we can truly join God in bringing heaven to earth in all that we do and say.

Peace, Phil
