“Another Helper” (John 14:12-31)

This past Sunday morning, we reflected on the presence and work of the Holy Spirit through the lens of Jesus. If you’d like to read through the morning message, feel free to click the following link: Another Helper. Also reflect on the following questions:

  • Jesus is the truest kind of friend. How have you experienced Jesus as a true friend? How does Jesus inspire you to be a better friend?
  • Jesus left to go to the Father, but he also offered hope that his disciples would carry out his love, works, and peace in the world through the presence of the Holy Spirit. How have you embodied these aspects of Christ’s ministry in your own life?
  • The Word that John uses to describe the Holy Spirit has several different meanings, including helper, comforter, and advocate. Which aspect(s) of the Holy Spirit’s ministry have you experienced in your own life?
  • Living in Jesus’ name means representing Jesus name through the way that we live. How do you live in Jesus’ name?

May the Holy Spirit continue to help us live Jesus’ way of life, comfort us through the difficult times, and speak on our behalf when we can’t find the words.

Peace, Phil
